Ci sono giorni che in bici vai un po’ più in là del solito. Instead of taking the same route you had planned, at a certain point, when you reach a fork in the road, take the other direction, the one you never take. Of course, you’re not heading into the unknown; you know more or less where that road leads, but your perception of space and time on a bicycle is completely different from that of driving a car.
It happens on days when your legs feel strong, when you feel like taking risks, you’re confident in your abilities and you almost always push yourself to the limit until you get home. It’s also nice to look at the new track on Strava after your shower, with that extra bit you’re not used to seeing on your weekly ride map.
Going a little further.
That’s exactly what we’re doing with alvento starting with this issue. In fact, it will also be published in English and distributed in all countries around the world where there is interest in cycling.
It may seem like a big step for an independent magazine like ours, and indeed it is, but the new path was taken with a slight push on the handlebars and the wheel turning in that direction. Simple, without too many calculations, without too many expectations. Confident in our ability and preparation. And we went a little further than usual.
