“Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better”
– Samuel Beckett, Worstward Ho, 1983
We had planned a different issue.
After all, even those who set off on a bike always have some idea of how things will go.
Then someone wins when they were not supposed to win again, and someone else loses what already felt like theirs.
You change your route, you wait for one another, you set off again.
Alvento 47 happened while we were making other plans.

Some contents:

• More important than the Pink Jersey. Afonso Eulálio, before the Giro jersey changed the way we see him.
• Un hombre sencillo. A day on the bike with the legendary Miguel Indurain.
• Romanticism in the Time of Enric Mas. Story of a cyclist regarded as unfulfilled.
• Aux armes citoyens! Les Gets, an unforgettable downhill race.
• Foolish Expectations. You set off on a bike journey with some idea of how it will go. Then the road has its say.
• Ultimate Flanders 525. Four days of bikepacking in Flanders, for once without thinking about racing, beyond the steep climbs that made it famous.
• Designing Speed. The people and ideas behind Cervélo bicycles.
• Five Degrees in August. Bikepacking in central Norway, where summer has other plans.

… and much more!
