The fourth issue of Destinations is dedicated to unconditional love for cycling: Just Ride.

11 places that seem to have been made for cycling. In the north and south of the peninsula, but also in the border regions: Istria, Ticino, France. While previous editions (Italy Unknown) focused on bikepacking, in this edition we suggest some trips with bags attached to the frame, but in other cases we have identified places where you can stop for a few days and explore the surroundings by bike.
Road, gravel, and this time even a proposal for mountain bikes.
We don’t like to categorise; for us, what matters is the spirit with which you approach the journey, with which you experience the hours on your bike.
It’s a question of approach, of mindset. Just Ride.

We offer you 11 destinations, which we have once again selected, mapped out, cycled and photographed.
Each destination is covered in 16 pages, in the usual extraordinary 27×42 cm format that offers an immersive experience in images: spread across two pages, the photographs are almost like posters.
This year we have also changed the paper, to make an object that has already become a must-have in just a few years even more precious.
Each destination is accompanied by a double-page spread of technical and informational data, maps and a digital package on Komoot with GPX tracks, highlights and suggestions for the route.

Would you like to know which destinations we have chosen?

  • Istrian Kaleidoscope – 220 kilometres of breathtaking coastline and unspoilt landscapes in the Istrian hinterland, with flavours waiting to be discovered.

  • The centre, the heart, the hub – Ivrea, in the province of Turin, was the cradle and capital of information technology. Now it is the heart of an area with few equals for cycling.

  • The choice of the pros – If most World Tour teams pass through Livigno to prepare for major events, there must be a reason, right?

  • Variety weekend – Three days around Bellinzona to discover picturesque spots, tackle legendary climbs and enjoy excellent food and wine.

  • Oltrepò Express – Just a few kilometres from Milan and the industrial heartland of northern Italy lies a region that is a real gem for cyclists.

  • Contrasti a Est – Da Tarvisio a Trieste, dalla montagna al mare, un paradigma invertito per attraversare il Friuli-Venezia Giulia, una regione dall’anima più unica che rara.

  • Mountain sea – VIP beaches, nightlife, luxury. However, Versilia also offers quiet roads, challenging climbs and breathtaking landscapes for cycling.

  • Dolomites Archipelago – Around Pozza di Fassa lies a valley that seems designed to surprise you with every kilometre you ride.

  • Remote present – If you had never planned to go cycling in Basilicata, well, now is the time to do so, after reading this article.

  • Remote present – If you had never planned to go cycling in Basilicata, well, now is the time to do so, after reading this article.

  • On the trail of the Tour – Galibier, Alpe d’Huez, Croix de Fer. We chose Les 2 Alpes as our starting point to immerse ourselves in the history of great cycling.
